Stephen Colbert's response to racist AI videos and Vance double-down

Asked whether the racist video was helpful for “good faith” shutdown negotiations, Vice President JD Vance answered: “Ohhh, I think it’s funny!  The president’s joking, and we’re having a good time. (snip) And I’ll tell Hakeem Jeffreys right now, I make a solemn promise to you that if you help us re-open the government, the sombrero memes will stop.”

Oooooooh. Never do this when there are unrepentant, unfazed-by-cancellation late night comedy show staff watching.  In a humour war against Colbert, Trump and Vance are taking a wet noodle to a gun fight. 

“Okay!” Stephen says. “If that’s how we’re going to do things, JD...” What happens next had me laughing so hard I actually had to stop the video for a bit.
