Musings for Friday - Shahed Drones and Russian Incursions

Caveat;

I’m no expert in the area of UAVs aka drones and their current use by Russia or Ukraine in their ongoing war.

I have a neighbor who is a recently retired Lieutenant General, but who happened to be in the region when Poland had their airspace invaded by Russian drones. Apparently, this isn’t a rare occurrence. Quite the contrary, it’s a fairly common one. What captured headlines was the number.

While not going into greater detail, the drones are of the the Iranian style of drone/UAV of Shahed drone. These are not small hand launched drones. Russia manufactures its own version of the Shahed drones.

These are probing incursions. While some incursions may be caused by inferior parts malfunctioning, the majority are quite intentional. NATO and the Baltic region are acutely aware of Russia’s aim.

The questions are around, what will Washington do?
