Will Greg Dworkin be back with us? I don’t know! Ask the contractors! They have a lot of work to do, making more noise. On the other hand, they’re listeners now, so maybe they’ve got added incentive to be either: 1) done early, or; 2) silent.

• -5 days, I guess (?) until the “legal” funding for what’s left of the US government runs out… again! Sorry, we’re still closed!
• 1,202 days remaining in Trump’s legal term of office
• 393 days until the midterm elections, if we have them
• 454 days—if we have those elections—until we seat that new Congress.

Our random country generator says, today’s an unlucky day for: Turkmenistan!

First of all, sir — tears streaming down my eyes (not from them, or down my cheeks, for some reason) — Turkmenistan is very strongly a different country than Turkey. Or even Türkiye. They said I could call them either one.

There’s no particularly good reason to invade Turkmenistan, with the exceptions of jealousy over their very cool-looking flag.

But more to the point, there are many very bad reasons to invade, like proximity to Afghanistan and Iran, or Caspian Sea-front development opportunities.

And that’s more That F-ing Guy’s speed.
