So Larry Summers is ashamed.
Gonna step back from ”public commitments”.
WTF is a ”public commitment” anyways?
Something tells me his cell phone blew up and between messages from ‘I’m not a pedo Dersh’ his publicist got through to tell him to find a new booking agent.
i dunno. I’m just guessing. No speaking gigs for Larry? At least for a while.
You know over the years every time I heard Larry it seemed to be in the context of him being a pompous ass. Lecturing his lessors.
Did his proximity to power go to his head? Or was he always this way?
There is no accusation that he personally was involved in statutory rape. The accusation is of absolutely abysmal judgment. Of being morally blind to the most obvious failings of his Epstein. Such that one should question his judgment. Period.
This is not just anyone. He was a 60 year old man and past president of Harvard. It’s after Epstein's conviction. He should have known better.
Warren (bolded below) nails it.
Warren and Summers, both Harvard-affiliated economic experts, have been at odds for years and often sparred over policy differences. In a statement Monday, she said that Summers for decades “has demonstrated his attraction to serving the wealthy and well-connected.”
“But his willingness to cozy up to a convicted sex offender demonstrates monumentally bad judgment,” Warren said, referring to Epstein’s state court conviction in Florida for soliciting a minor for sex.
“If he had so little ability to distance himself from Jeffrey Epstein even after all that was publicly known about Epstein’s sex offenses involving underage girls, then Summers cannot be trusted to advise our nation’s politicians, policymakers, and institutions — or teach a generation of students at Harvard or anywhere else,” Warren said.

Thanks to Bluefan who pointed out Larry is 70, not 60 as the original diary suggested due to some less than clear prose.
I’ve fixed (I hope!) the confusing sentence.
thanks!
