Remembering Dick Cheney

I remember him as a wretched, dishonest, cruel human being.

I remember that he joined Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, and Pearle in promoting the lies that Iraq had WMD’s and that “W” had to go to war.

I remember that he was a big proponent of torture along with CIA Chief Haspel dragging the reputation of the US into the gutter.

I remember that he kept his Halliburton stock and profited fabulously from the war contracts.  I remember that there was no follow up investigation to the many Halliburton projects that went unfinished or failed inspection: their invoices were always paid.

I remember that he supported the successful effort to extend the patent of the popular allergy drug Claritin to prevent the production of inexpensive generic competitors.

Oddly, I remember his wife insisting that he was marvelously funny.  

He’s a reminder that some humans use their talents for evil.
