Events on the Pokrovsky Line continue to be very fluid. Denys Davydov, the Ukrainian vlogger, who has of late been quite down cast in his reportage of Pokrovsk was very HaPpY hippy happy today based on what he has been seeing within the city itself and the continued Ukrainian stalwart defense of nearby Myrnohrad and Rodynske.
He queued up his day-to-day map and saw no advancement by the Russian forces. Further that within Pokrovsk itself the Russian infils and SRGs earlier spotted in various parts of the city which became the source of so much alarm appear to have been eliminated(?). As well that Ukrainian forces have now been geo-located in places previously credited as Russian controlled.
And the Ukrainian flag flies again over Pokrovsk city hall.
But what does it all mean? To be sure the Russians are still keeping up the pressure and will definitely not relent. The situation in Pokrovsk is still complex, fluid and without a doubt very dangerous for Ukraine. But they’re not leaving anytime soon. If the Russians want Pokrovsk, they will have to come get it … at a very steep price.
And by Ares, what a price they’re paying in their bid to muscle mechanized assaults through the Dobropiliya-Volodymyrivka-Shakove pocket(caption map) on the northeastern approaches to Pokrovsk. The videos are out there but I will not link to them. Denys Davidov also didn’t show them because of the absolutely horrendous and catastrophic loss of Russian lives in the last couple of days. Dozens and dozens strewn about the agricultural landscape along with their burning tanks and APCs. As the map above shows, that area is just locked up tight by Ukrainian Blue … a virtual defensive rock wall with a supporting maelstrom of drones descending out of the sky to immolate those strangely up-armored Russian tanks and assault vehicles daring to come anywhere close.
So today the Russians changed up their plans, advancing on foot whilst counting on the foggy weather conditions to handicap Ukrainian drone surveillance and flights. They counted wrong. Apparently the Ukrainians can spot them even in dense fog:
Fog cover' fails: Ukraine's 33rd Brigade destroys Russian forces near Dobropillia
Under the cover of fog, Russian forces attempted to break through the defenses near the village of Volodymyrivka in the Dobropillia direction, but their concentration was timely detected and destroyed.
"Today, in the area of responsibility of our brigade - the village of Volodymyrivka, located slightly north of the settlement of Dobropillia, assault operations continued. Russian troops did not involve mechanized units, but on foot, under the cover of fog, which quite thickly covers the fields in the evenings and mornings, they tried to disguise themselves, using the weather conditions,"

The Russian small squad infiltration may continue from the south of Pokrovsk and the Russian pressure will continue from the direction of Myrnohrad and Rodynske where the Ukrainians are still holding. But for now, at least, ADAPTIVE INDOMITABLE UKRAINE is firmly locking out Russian mechanized armored assaults in the north of Pokrovsk. And Russian dismounted infantry assaults, too … dense fog or no fog.
