Democrats won in a lot of local races outside of New Jersey, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Georgia.
The largest and wealthiest county in Kansas is Johnson County which borders Kansas City, Missouri. It is one of the many white suburbs that has been trending very blue. Yesterday, there were local, putatively non-partisan, in Kansas. The MAGA’s lost.
Here is the front page article of the e-edition of today's Kansas City Star. I have the front page below. It is behind a pay wall. The article answers the question with a resounding: Kansas followed the trend. A key passage:
Local elections across the Kansas City metro echoed a remarkable trend across the country, in which progressive or Democratic-leaning candidates largely defeated their more conservative challengers. While most of the races were nonpartisan, the results illustrated a positive sign for Kansas Democrats ahead of the 2026 elections . . .

The evidence is clear that on Tuesday, when American could, they supported the progressive candidates. I’m confident what few “smart” Republicans left know the hatred of Trump and MAGA is widespread and deep and they are in huge trouble in 2026.
