It’s snowing outside at my house late Saturday night. The grassy sections of the ground are all white. It’s quite pretty, actually. But our local meteorologists say it won’t last long. We still have a lot of Autumn left.
Nonetheless, I hauled out my bird bath heater yesterday afternoon. I’ll plug it in when I fill the birdbath up Sunday morning. I try to use that only when necessary. They suck a noticeable amount of extra electricity. I’m not rich enough to afford that in this Trumpian economy.
In other news, management of a privatized housing community at Tyndall Air Force Base (FL) recently notified their tenants that they noticed some were putting up their Christmas decorations already. Someone in management thought this was far too early. They ordered their residents to take them down again until no earlier than 30 days before the holiday. Talk about a grinch.
Maybe I’m rushing the seasons but I’m also already beginning to decorate for Christmas. I felt better about starting when I heard a couple of news anchors on my 4:00 PM news show commenting that they were beginning to deck the halls, too. At least I haven’t taken down my Indian corn from the doors outside yet. Those are staying up until after Thanksgiving.
