For someone who once cast herself as the great disruptor of America’s two-party system, Jill Stein has a habit of vanishing once the campaign banners come down. As Trump’s second term grinds on, marked by mounting damage and disorder, Stein is largely absent, surfacing only for the occasional sparsely attended talk in places like Seattle.
Where is the outrage over the ICE kidnappings? Or the rallies to stop Trump’s attack on renewable projects? Giant wind farms are near completion, which would provide millions of homes with electricity, but have been shut down after spending billions because Trump has a very weird hatred for wind. Trump also cancelled finishing the largest solar farm in North America, destroying jobs and cutting off access to desperately needed energy.
So where, THE FUCK, is she?
Compare her presence to that of progressives like AOC or Bernie Sanders—people who keep showing up and doing the work, win or lose.
It’s hard not to notice how quiet she’s been while Trump continues undoing environmental protections she once claimed as her top issue. For someone who branded herself as an environmental crusader, her silence is deafening.
Meanwhile, other countries are managing to elect Green Party members to real positions of power. Why not here? Where’s the infrastructure, the local organizing, the ballot access? Where is the ground game to elect officials in lower level offices? It’s like the Green Party goes into hibernation between presidential cycles.
Stein has been mounting quixotic presidential bids since 2012, each one dangling the promise of “5 percent for federal funding” and each one coming up short. Who keeps bankrolling these campaigns—and where does she go in the years between them? If past is prologue, she’ll reappear in 2028 with the same talking points and the same lack of measurable party growth to show for it.
For everyone you know who’s complaining right now but voted for Stein, this is a good moment to ask a simple question: where is she? By 2028, it will be too late. I recently argued with someone who “just couldn’t” vote for Kamala for some vague reason. She’s furious that Democrats aren’t fighting harder—yet fell silent when I asked what her favorite Green candidate is actually doing.
The rest of us figured out a long time ago that she is a Russian-puppet fraud who only pops up every four years to help right-wing billionaires and the GOP. She didn’t cost us the election in 2024, but she didn’t do us any favors either.
I’ll ask again for her supporters complaining right now about how things are. Where is the hell is she?
I’m going to send you this article when she inevitably announces another failed run in 2028 when Peter Thiel and/or Vladimir Putin decide to help her help JD Vance.
