Nuno Loureiro, professor at MIT, shot and killed at his home (updated)

UPDATE 12/18/25: There is a connection (person of interest) to the Brown University mass shooting; waiting on the press conference.  This update might be late to the party as I just got home from work.  I surmised that they were somehow connected; guess I was right.

On Monday night, MIT professor Nuno Loureiro was shot and killed at his home.  His wife is one of my mom’s photography students; she called us this morning with the news. 

Apparently their doorbell rang at about 9:30 Monday night, he opened the door and was shot.  The building is a condo building; it’s not completely clear whether he buzzed the person in and was shot at his front door or he went down to the main vestibule.  He died at the hospital this morning.

We used to live a few blocks from where the shooting happened.  There’s very little information as of now.
