When I first read it, it had far too few recs and comments as a measure of extent of readers seeing it, and had only been reblogged to a few DK groups, only two of which are in the ■ 📁48 DK Meta staff, groups,Comm’ty Advisory crew & tags for site tech&issues rev6aug25 ■ but neither of those official/staff meta groups. I reblogged it to all DK groups I’m, ‘cause the writers, readers, and followers are gonna need to know what’s coming and might not unless we all do that. So, PLEASE REBLOG THAT POST and THIS ONE YOU’RE READING AND ALL OFFICIAL DK POSTS TO YOUR GROUPS, too.
My local groups and YOURS plus about 300 more are listed and linked in:
I’m hoping that public spirited kosaks who are members or followers of ■ 💙DAILY KOS Friendly OPEN THREAD GROUPS link list 2011-2026 ■ will drop the link of that post by kos into those threads. And the links of all other posts about the transition to Wordpress from here on. kos’s says there’s going to be a beta site we can all try out and give our feedback on, like back in the transition from DK4 to DK5.
And I’m hoping everyone who’s a member or follower of other DK groups will drop the link for these posts into those threads AND that members of DK groups will reblog the posts to all their groups, and the editors and admins of all groups keep an eye on the group queues for those posts queued there by contributor-level members.
Because if anyone here remembers what happened the last time DK made major site changes during the run-up to an election season, they’ll realize how critical to DK’s future their efforts may be in getting the word around so kosaks can participate in shaping the future in here, and be part of this site helping participate in shaping the future OUT THERE, instead of having events happen to us and have to just suck it up because of being too late to weigh in, pitch in, get heard.
Here are more group link indexes:
Okay, this was my Paul Revere moment. It matters, and so does yours, if the site matters at all beyond ourselves. If the work we’ve all put in, if the history our posts comprise, text and images and all, ever mattered beyond the moment of posting.
UPDATE
Daily Kos Staff has commented:
Addressing the headline question: “will the 25 yrs of Daily Kos posting history be carried over to WordPress? Images and all?”
Yes, published stories will be migrated.
Yes, images in published stories will be carried over with the stories.
We will begin posting stories with information regarding the details of the migration in January, after the long holiday.
