As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!

Greetings friends, and welcome back to another Saturday! Thank you so very much for stopping by to check in on me. I do hope that you are all doing quite well.
If you have been keeping up with my diaries, then you know a lot about me. I grew up in the 80s, and I am studying programing/coding. Put them together, and it may be no surprise that at the time of writing, I am working to bring back to life one of my favorite classic video games. As a matter of fact, the chance at this one coding project is kinda why i started with boot.dev. One of my first experiences with video games was the game “Asteroids!”, thanks to my dad… and much to mom’s woe, as soon as I got my first taste of it, I soon lost -hours- to that simple little game. It has been , rather obsolete for decades now, but that doesn’t make it worthless, and to be honest, I miss it, in the way you might an old friend. So, soon, I will have my own version to play.
So here is my question.. What is your favorite old school game? Care to share?
