Well, here we are again. The Big Game. The day so important it should be a national holiday. An event treated as a major national security event, and don't forget: a wonderful opportunity for big corporations to bury US in the latest in advertising slop.
I will not be watching this year, and I urge you all to do the same. Don't even watch for the ads or for the halftime show.
The Big Reason, of course, is that the Tangerine Tyrant will be in attendance, and like what happened with kneeling during the anthem, Goodell and the NFL have decided to firmly auger their lips to his saggy spray-tanned ass by removing "END RACISM" from the end zones. Now Goodell may try to deflect by talking about the recent disasters that happened, but no one's really buying it.
Let's be serious — the president is going to keep on the pressure on the league. His base is already clamoring for him to force the Washington Commanders to go back to their old branding. (Previous owner Dan Snyder is a friend of the president.)
As if it wasn't bad enough, the game this year is on Fox, and even though the news and sports divisions are supposed to be separate, I know the president’s favorite news channel is going to put in a lot of kissing up.
So yeah. This Sunday doesn't have to be Super. Just spend it like a day where there's no games. Because life can still go on without football.
