This is still another one of those stories that flew under the radar because of everything happening since Trump took office. It happened on January 22nd.
For some unknown reason, Elon decided to retweet a post from an X user that attacked Carlos Slim, a Mexican billionaire who we haven't heard about in a long time.
When I tried to get the full message "Something went wrong. Try reloading" was displayed. The DDos attack supposedly ended last night when X switched over to Cloudflare's protection services. I tried one more time, after a dozen others, and it came up. I think the DDos attack is still ongoing.

As you can see, there are several reasons Carlos Slim would be upset about it. Supposedly, it was only minutes after Musks's repost that Carlos Slim canceled $7 billion of the Starlink contract, and then the full $22 billion an hour later. Instead, Slim is going to negotiate with Chinese and European companies. That's a really big chunk to lose, even for Musk.
Carlos Slim reduced his shares in Class A non-voting stock to 8% of the available NY Times stock in 2017. A family trust owns 95% of the voting stock. Slim has no influence on editorial content as is implied.
It's the second paragraph insinuating that Slim has ties to drug cartels, I'm sure, was the last straw, with Musk retweeting it with the cute monocled emoji.
The other loss to Musk was a partner, Carlos Slim, who operates in 25 countries. Musk is a businessman who is alienating not only the populace of the United States, but businesses around the world completely unnecessarily by his X platform and personal posts, as well as interviews, criticizing foreign government leaders and taking sides, like with AfD in Germany.
After, or while it is ongoing, the DDos attack was claimed by Dark Storm Team, a pro-Palestinian hacktivist group.
Musk, however, blamed it on Ukraine in an interview with Fox Business. "We're not sure exactly what happened. But there was a massive cyberattack trying to bring down the X system, with IP addresses originating in the Ukraine area."
Maybe it was both, or he's trying to add a layer of angst to additional withdrawl of support to Ukraine. Why would they go after Musk when they've got Russia as a target? And IP addresses are easily spoofed by hackers. Dark Storm Team would have made them look like they were coming from Israel or Russia.
Musk has more worries to deal with. Tesla stock dropped 15% yesterday, and sales in Europe have dropped 45%. Musk's net worth has already dropped $52 billion since the start of the year.
Even Donald Trump claiming he's going to go out today and buy a Tesla isn't going to help Musk.
Musk must not have much left of his feet after Trump was sucking on his toes in the AI generated video, and finding so many ways to shoot himself in the foot.
Couldn't happen to a Nazier guy.
