DOGE will not be measured in dollars saved but in lives lost
Imagine a doctor who, instead of carefully diagnosing and treating a patient, decides to amputate limbs at random—whether they’re diseased or not. That’s what Trump and Musk’s DOGE effort is doing to the government: hacking away at essential programs without any concern for the lives they are destroying.
Donald Trump has announced that he will return all the money "saved" by Elon Musk's DOGE effort to the public in the form of checks. This is a deeply misleading promise. First, there is little evidence that money has been "saved" at all. More importantly, the real cost of the DOGE initiative isn't financial—it’s human lives.
This so-called efficiency campaign is nothing more than a brutal assault on vulnerable people. Cutting off USAID, eliminating essential programs, and firing people with disabilities for no cause are not cost-saving measures; they are acts of cruelty. Under this plan, people are losing their jobs, their homes, their benefits, and their ability to survive. Mortgage payments, car payments, and basic needs will go unmet. The suffering will be immeasurable, and for what? A symbolic handout that won’t come close to covering the destruction caused.
Trump and Musk are not reformers—they are sociopaths wielding a sledgehammer where careful reform is needed. Instead of a systemic review to identify inefficiencies, they are indiscriminately slashing everything in their path, leaving devastation in their wake. This is not governance; it is reckless, ideologically driven cruelty disguised as fiscal responsibility.
The hypocrisy is staggering. Trump recently claimed on FOX NEWS that he will not touch Medicare or Medicaid, yet behind closed doors, he is urging the House and Senate to do exactly that. His words are a smokescreen, meant to pacify voters while he pushes policies that will gut essential healthcare programs, leaving millions without the coverage they depend on. This is not about fiscal responsibility—it is about power, control, and rewarding the wealthy at the expense of the most vulnerable.
At the same time, critical safety agencies like the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are being gutted, putting airline passengers and crew members at risk. Without proper oversight and enforcement, safety standards will deteriorate, leading to avoidable tragedies. Cutting funding to agencies like the National Institutes of Health (NIH) will stall life-saving medical research, slowing progress on treatments and cures for countless diseases. Eliminating USAID removes crucial humanitarian aid, leaving some of the world's most vulnerable populations without support. These cuts do not make America stronger; they make it more dangerous and unstable for everyone.
The real blood price of DOGE will not be measured in dollars saved but in lives lost and futures shattered. The American people must recognize this for what it is: a sham, a lie, and an act of systemic violence that will not only harm the most vulnerable but will eventually impact everyone—including those who believe they are safe.
Even Trump's most loyal supporters must see how they and their loved ones will suffer under these policies. The cost of these cuts is too high to ignore. We must see through the lies and resist before it’s too late.
