Just attended the Tesla Takedown protest in Sacramento for the first time, and really enjoyed it! It was a very festive and fun atmosphere, with TONS of drivers honking horns and waving in support. And many Tesla drivers showed support too, even one of those ugly ass cybertrucks.
Around 100 people attended. Sounds like more would have, but there was another activist event going on that pulled some away.
Someone suggested that we create a “bingo” style game where we check off boxes for the different folks who drive by, including:
*Supporters who honk (a bazillion)
*Haters who honk and flip us off (maybe 30)
*Tesla drivers who support us (50)
*People who drive by slowly to get a panoramic video recording on their cell phone (sooo many!)
*Bus drivers who honk (just 1)
*Driver who slowly shakes his/her head in disapproval. That is the most judgmental one of all. Like a parent who says “I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed”. (20)
*And finally, I think about 50% of the drivers/passengers looking at us were totally unaware of the Musk/DOGE issue, and stared intently at out signs. Some were children. And I think these are the most important ones to reach.
And there was no police presence. But also no media presence. We’re talking about how to fix that media part.
And here’s a bunch of pics:
