From Florida Politics, this might be the only polling done on this race so take it with a grain of salt. This is the district vacated by Mike Waltz who became National Security Advisor, for now.
However it is showing some really interesting points, from the poll by St. Pete Polls:
The candidates are former GOP State Sen. Randy Fine and Democrat Josh Weil and it has it at
Fine 48, Weil 44, MoE 4.9
Political Party Breakdown:
Democratic Party 107 responses Fine: 9.3% Weil: 85.0% Someone else: 1.9% Undecided: 3.7% Republican Party 200 responses Fine: 78.0% Weil: 14.0% Someone else: 1.5% Undecided: 6.5% Independent Voter 96 responses Fine: 34.4% Weil: 57.3% Someone else: 3.1% Undecided: 5
Look at the Independent and GOP number, Fine is leaking GOP support and he is getting killed with independents, this is ripe for an upset. This is a district that Waltz got 66% last election which was almost 5 months ago. A lot has happened since then. Another data point to look at is this. The party break down and if they have or plan to vote.
Already voted: 38.0% Plan to vote: 62.0%
Political Party Breakdown:
Democratic Party 107 responses Already voted: 49.5% Plan to vote: 50.5%
Republican Party 200 responses Already voted: 33.5% Plan to vote: 66.5%
Independent Voter 96 responses Already voted: 34.4% Plan to vote: 65.6%
Once again looking at the spread here, this would be ripe for a nail biter or an upset. Do those Democrats get out to vote along with Independents? Do we also see a continuation of the leaking from the GOP who still haven’t voted, to make this close or do I dare to dream and think we can win this? How angry are voters with Trump, we may get our first picture and it could be a good one.
