I still haven’t decided what to do about my taxes. I owe for 2024 — rather a lot, I think (inheritances will do that, even if they’re not large enough for the death tax). And then there’s the current farce in government…. Ah well, there’s another couple of weeks to decide.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

This one’s been out for a while, but I only just noticed it. From The Guardian: wild fish can tell people apart when they’re dressed differently.

A couple in Europe have solved a major math problem. She’s been working on it for 20 years — he’s been working with her for ten. It looks from the article like they are not married, but they do have children.

My daughter texted me a few days ago. I asked how her father was and she said he’s starting treatment. Okay, for what? Nobody’s told me what his actual diagnosis is. She did. Now I have a pretty good idea of specifically why he married his girlfriend a few weeks back. Vaguely surprised it took so long; but why now has been answered.
He also has tremors in his right hand that are so bad he can’t write — at least, that was what my second was describing a few months back.
Me, I have arthritis. My hip is much better — still working on the knee. And stress does a number on my blood pressure, which is a bit high right now, but not as bad as right after the inauguration — knowing what the disasters are is better than waiting for them to drop.
I find myself wondering if my firstborn is going to leave me alone about my health issues for a while.
I got a letter on Friday about my new insurance. It has the name of the coverage I enrolled in and my personal ID — apparently the card will follow fairly soon, but I’m to keep the letter till I have the card because it may not arrive before the new insurance takes effect. For the record, the card arrived yesterday.

I kept thinking I would go out for breakfast while the offspring were gone; but I didn’t do it, since the only places that appealed are inconvenient to get to and parking is somewhat limited. I did get some Popeye’s chicken — and one of their chicken sandwiches as well. Next time I go there, I think I’ll try the fish sandwich, since I hear it’s pretty good.

Love you guys!
