America has become hostile to freedom of enquiry and science in general, not just the climate denialism required by the GOP funding fossil fuel industries. Trump is grossly ignorant about almost everything, and like Stalin seeks to destroy anything he does not understand. Unless more people and institutions stand up, America is a third-rate country for the foreseeable future.
