Donald Trump watched 60 Minutes and he is furious.
First, he rants on and on about the 60 Minutes Harris interview, and you think calling them fake news would be the end of it. I'm just putting in the first post for reference.
It wasn't over. Trump says that "Almost every week, 60 Minutes,which is being sued for Billions of Dollars for fraud..."
Not every week. In fact it is just once and Trump is the culprit, over the very same Harris interview. There is no case. This is the definition of a Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation, or SLAPP, lawsuit.
Okay, now just mentioning his name is derogatory or defamatory if it isn't Fox News.
"BROADCAST" is in quotes to deligitimize it. 60 Minutes is no longer allowed to talk about Ukraine or Trump's traitorous handling of the U.S.'s part in it. Then, the war would never have happened it the election hadn't been "RIGGED." The rest of the rant just rehashes his grievance against CBS until he gets to:
"They should lose their license!"
CBS has licenses for their over the air broadcast stations. They're in all the major cities in the U.S.. They are also carried on local cable systems. Loss of licenses would be major.
"Hopefully, the ... FCC...Chairman Brendan Carr, will impose the maximum fines and punishment, which is substantial..."
First, he says "hopefully" like he does as a mob boss, to make it seem like he isn't giving the command. It's also obvious that the "substantial" is on the "punishment," not the "fines."
"... Unlawful and illegal behavior..."
Here comes the Dept. of Justice. FCC is just the start.
"CBS is out of control, at levels never seen before..."
The "levels never seen before" is one of Trump's catch phrases. It's like a brain placeholder.
Because they had the temerity to do a story that put a negative light on Trump, they have committed a crime. I haven't watched the segments he's talking about. But just the subjects alone are upsetting to him.
"... they should pay a big price for this."
This time he's left behind the "hopefully" qualifier.
Brendan Carr was already investigating CBS for the Harris interview. Now Trump is giving him an order to punish them.
If we keep allowing Trump to be judge, jury and executioner, he's just going to do more of it.
Some lawyer, some court is going to stop this. Hopefully soon.
