I was talking to my daughter today. She is in grad school at a large midwestern school that I will not name. There are several foreign students in her department, and she is frustrated that the administration is not doing enough to protect these students. Many are justifiably scared of what might happen to them. My daughter and a friend are collecting money from the faculty and others for a legal defense fund for these students. (One has already consulted an immigration lawyer.) When I heard, I sent her a donation. I am not asking anyone for a donation…in fact I don’t want to provide any information about it for obvious reasons. I just want to show that people are out there trying to make a difference against the anti-foreign horrors going on. There are assuredly many such people who are not giving up, but trying to do *something*. I’m so proud of her.
