As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

Greetings, friends, and welcome. Thank you so very much for stopping by to check in. Congratulations on making it to another Saturday.
Sometimes, the most difficult thing we can do, is take time to give attention to ourselves. From our youngest years most of us are told that taking care of ourselves makes us selfish, and the very tone of the word tells us this is a bad thing, and to be avoided. But if we do not take care of ourselves, then we will not have the strength or ability to take care of anyone else. Anyone who has ever flown, knows this one… “Please put on your own oxygen math, before tending to those around you.”
It wasn’t so long ago that taking care of myself was one of the hardest things. All the details were just things that took time out of my day that might better be spent doing almost anything else. Problem being that if I didn’t do those things, I got weaker, sicker, and the wound did not heal.
One of the best tools I have found was shown to me then. Finch, is very much like the odd pocket pets, or Tamagotchi toys that were so prevalent when my children were younger. With an ap that runs either on your Apple, or Android phone, you get points and achievements for taking care of yourself, and in doing so, helping your little friend grow and explore the world.
If you have a mobile phone, then you can go to your ap store and search for Finch. Otherwise, just Go Here, and start taking care of yourself and your new best friend!
