The current maladministration is Hell-bent on destroying the US economy, science, legal system, health, and all of our climate programs—NOAA, EVs, and now wind power, with maximally bogus excuses and with Drill, Baby, Drill. I begin today with a New York wind project being shut down.
Not actually shut down, but temporarily halted pending review.
The President said that he meant only to prevent licensing of future wind projects, and that existing projects could proceed right ahead. But not Burgum, who is demanding that the licensing program is deeply and illegally flawed. Independent review says that there are only minor issues. We could improve it, for example by increased consultation with native tribes. There is no interference with fisheries or whales, or the view from Whatsit’s golf courses.
Bogotification
The joke theory of Quantum Bogodynamics begins by positing a fundamental particle, the bogon, which is the irreducible quantum of bogosity. It is preferentially emitted by suits and techbros, and is known to interfere greatly with first-time public tech demos. The standard example is now the Tesla Cybertruck introduction, in which the supposedly shatterproof windows shattered. Twice. But this is by no means the only Cybertruck tech disaster attributable to fundamental bogosity.
The antiparticle of the bogon is the cluon, which has a great affinity for the intelligent and (Oh, noez!) the diverse, but is known to be able to pass unimpeded through great numbers of MAGA heads, only rarely interacting and revealing important truths. This is evident in the vast morass of denial of, well, everything that is so typical of MAGAdom.

A fascinating thing about my region is that a lot of solar PV demand comes from our Amish neighbors -- which means the system I have was designed to be pretty isolated, since that's what people are used to. I'm kind of loving the behavior changes it's prompting.
