Habba Drops Charges on Mayor Baraka, Charges Rep McIver With Assaulting ICE Officers

Can Habba build an assault case out of this?

Some breaking news: From the beginning I told you that the Trump Regime's charges against Newark Mayor Baraka were unlikely to prevail in court. I publicly wrote to that effect. 

Today Alina Habba the same United States Attorney who had him charged abruptly dropped those very charges. 

The decision to drop the charges, Alina Habba says, was made after "extensive consideration." Apparently such "extensive consideration" was not applied before indicting the mayor.

Unable to make her charges stick against the Mayor, Habba now turns her target to Representative LaMonica McIver who Habba claims assaulted ICE officers. Video shows McIver in the midst of a jostling scrum when ICE officers came out of their facility to belatedly arrest Baraka.

Statements, to include the one linked by Habba, and others made by DOJ representatives, suffer the same issue of prosecutorial misconduct discussed in my article. Beyond that I'd like to see the specific conduct alleged. All the video I see shows so much crowd pushing around people that I think it hard to claim McIver assaulted LEOs. 

Habba declares “no one is above the law . . . “politicians included.” She said the same about Baraka before dropping his charges.
