Elections are a regular occurrence in Virginia and this year’s “off year” election will be critical to Virginia’s economy, workforce and future. So far, this President has refused to send federal monies, that have already been approved, to address our infrastructure needs. Last week a $400,000 grant to improve broadband in Southside and Southwest Virginia, through the Digital Equity Act, was halted and now we have learned that a $300,000 grant to address the rising sea levels, threatening Jamestown’s archaeological sites, were cancelled.
While many states have faced these same unlawful and unconstitutional decisions by the administration, their Attorney Generals have fought back with lawsuits, many of which have been won in the courts. Yet here in Virginia, our Attorney General, Jason Miyares, is too busy writing letters to Costco for being too “woke” instead of doing his job. His actions, or lack thereof, are a reminder that elections have consequences and Virginia can’t afford to sit this November out! In addition, the House of Representatives just passed a budget that will unilaterally target Medicaid, Medicare, and SNAP, as well as sneaking in dangerous policies and cuts that will impact all of us over the next 5 years. All 100 House of Delegate seats are up for election and the Commonwealth deserves legislators who will make critical decisions to ensure Virginians continue to have a thriving economy, healthcare access, affordable prescription drugs and food on the table. Make a plan to vote, because it couldn’t be more dire in 2025!
One of these 100 Delegates races, is my campaign here in the 71st district and it is one of the most competitive seats across the state and ready to FLIP! Please consider donating to ensure that happens comes November 4th, 2025.
