All eyes are on Virginia for 2025 elections, in the midst of a 2nd Trump administration, and Democrats are stepping UP in a big way! Out of the 100 House of Delegates seats up for grabs, we now have at least one Democrat running in every seat. This is a HISTORIC accomplishment and speaks volumes to both the tireless work of Fergie Reid, who’s been actively helping Democrats get on the ballot in Virginia, as well as our currently supercharged political climate.
Virginia is one of the states most impacted by the detrimental federal workforce cuts and that, combined with the onslaught of executive orders targeting our most vulnerable, Virginians are fed up! As we run full speed ahead into a possible recession, while we watch global conflicts continue to worsen and protests across the nation in response to an ongoing Constitutional crisis, I don’t see this momentum slowing down.
As one of the most competitive Delegate races, located in the 71st district, I know this is a year to make history across the Commonwealth. For those who are unfamiliar, the 71st district represents all of the City of Williamsburg, most of James City County and half of New Kent County. Fun fact, New Kent County has NEVER had Democratic representation at the state level, and that is about to change. Virginia is also poised to elect their first woman Governor with Abigail Spanberger and we have the opportunity to outperform our 2017 blue wave, where we flipped 15 House of Delegate seats (nearly 16), and flipped all 3 statewide seats to Dems. RIGHT NOW is the time to be invested in Virginia candidates, from donating your dollars to donating your time. We can NOT let off the gas because the opposition sure as hell isn’t, we’ve got elections to WIN!
