Survey: should handcuffing a sitting U.S. senator cost these FBI agents their jobs and pensions?

My own reaction when I first saw the video of a sitting U.S. Senator being wrestled to the ground and arrested is that he should have raised his hand and said in his best “Take command voice” I am a United States Senator and this building is my office.  If you lay a FINGER on me it will end your career and your FBI pension.  Stand.  down.  RIGHT.  NOW!

This might have not stopped them, but it would have created a narrative and set the stage for subsequently branding these guys more clearly as “rogue cops” — in the meantime weakening  their “I was only following orders” defence in the court of public opinion.
