Another one of those annoying short diaries but I haven’t seen this posted here yet though it seems to have exploded last night. Not that much information is out there as to what happened, but I thought I’d put it out there for discussion and further research while I go out and assemble a paddling pool for the birds as we’re about to have a run of hot dry weather and adults are trying deperately to keeep their fledlings hydrated.
No one seems to have a clue about the whys and wherefores but the bavnova from this was spectacular. Are the fireworks worth the tax dollars slid to Musk to light them? Who knows, but that launch pad will cost something to reconstruct.

So Starship Ship 36 just detonated *before* the static fire test - fueled and waiting for the test. Looks like the top tank lets go and sets off the whole stack. It would be bad enough if it let go during the static fire test, but it just blew up. And it's cooking off the fuel tanks on the pad.
