Trump actually said it six times in one post. He had it on his mind when the flagpole on the South Lawn was being put up and he told a reporter he was going to get a Nobel Prize for the picture. He meant a Pulitzer. Or maybe he doesn't know the difference. Anyway, Trump thinks he deserves one.
The first Nobel Prize he thinks he should get is for brokering a treaty between the Republic of Congo and Rwanda. Just the other day he said the Congo was sending us their criminals, mentally insane, murderers and rapists. When he hosted the President of South Africa and tried to ambush him, he held up this picture showing white people being killed when it was in the Congo and there were body bags being carried.

So much for Trumps's claim of accuracy. But he says representatives of Congo and Rwanda are coming to DC on Monday to sign a treaty ending a 3 year war. Trump says it has gone on for decades. There was a five year war in the Congo from 1998 to 2003. There was the Rwanda Civil War from 1990 to 1994, but nothing that lasted decades.

That conflict happened 16 years before Trump took office in 2016, and it was NATO that kept the peace after using force to stop it. He really does not deserve one for this. He has no idea what he's talking about.

The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam is a conflict still going on between Ethiopia and Egypt and also Sudan. Trump sent the Secretary of the Treasury Stephen Mnuchin in 2019 to facilitate negotiations between the three countries. There wasn't any United States money involved at all, as far as I can trace. $1 billion in funding came from the Exim Bank of China. Sorry, Donald. You don't get a Peace Prize for this one either. It's still a bone of contention between Ethiopia and Egypt. The problem now is how fast the reservoir is filled and Egypt is not happy with the amount of water it's still getting from the Nile.

This one he is responsible for getting Bahrain, UAE, Morroco and Sudan to recognize Israel and have diplomatic relations. The Abraham Accords was a start of a process to get all Arab countries to recognize Israel's right to exist and to begin diplomatic relations, but it hasn't happened. It seemed like Saudi Arabia was just about to join the Accords, but then the war in Gaza started. If Trump solves the Middle East crisis without getting into the war ourselves, just maybe, just maybe he could get a Nobel Peace Prize. Nothing is going to happen until Israel stops the war in Gaza. I'm not sure what effect the Israel-Iran War is going to have on this. Saudi Arabia hates Iran. Iran hates Saudi Arabia and tries to use its proxies to attack Saudi oil interests.
"No, I won't get a Nobel Peace Prize no matter what I do, including Russia/Ukraine, and Israel/Iran, whatever those outcomes may be, but the people know, and that's all that matters to me!"
"No matter what I do..." Now, he's really whining about it. He wants it so bad he can taste it. But the people knowing is all that matters to him. Sure. Why did he just spend all that time and space typing Nobel Peace Prize in six times if it didn't matter to him?
I would love to hear what those countries involved think of his claims. I will love to hear what the rest of the world thinks of his request.
The Norwegian Nobel Committee is comprised of 5 members appointed by the Norwegian parliament, the Storting. I hope they don't choke on their dinner when they hear of this.
