My friends, the days we have all been waiting for have finally arrived.
Those fucking assholes turned on one another!
Honestly, i thought it would happen earlier but I had no idea it would be this public and this amazing.
It is living up to every dream I could have had!
This schadenfreude should be enjoyed in its most simple and amazing form. we should be swimming in a sea of schadenfreude. Floating on clouds of it. Eating delicious bites of it.
These are truly terrible, terrible men who joined forced to ruin our democracy and this break between them is as delicious as it is good.
This post is going to be divided into three sections. The first will celebrate the best celebrity breakup since… ever.
The second will celebrate Democrats. Who, despite what some people whine about, are actually amazing.
The final will include other good news that you may have missed and will want to enjoy.
A feast in three parts! Let’s get to it!
Schadenfreude
Let’s get started with how this is likely to affect MAGA:
The ugly end to the alliance between the president and the richest man in the world will change the trajectory of the MAGA movement.
The toxic bromance of President Donald Trump and Elon Musk was always going to end ugly. These are not guys who take two deep breaths — or even one — before they post or care whether a scorched-earth insult also makes them look bad.
in just a few easy steps, Musk went from politely leaving the White House to giving self-pitying interviews about how hard he tried to save America to publicly blasting the bill to declaring Trump “is in the [Jeffrey] Epstein files. That is why they have not been made public,” and calling for his impeachment.
Musk, who just a few months ago wielded his bags of cash in a failed attempt to get a GOP candidate elected in Wisconsin, even mused about forming a new political party.
What a year this week has been.
Musk and Trump are bound by many traits, but of great relevance today is the fact that each is surrounded by a slavish cult of personality. And the whole point of a cult of personality is that there can be only one true master.
lines are already being drawn. On one side you have the old-school MAGAs: the pizzagaters, QAnoners, Jan. 6ers and Trump 1.0 all-stars like Laura Loomer and Steve Bannon. Included among Elon’s team are the Silicon Valley tech utopians, various fascist-adjacent online influencers, heterodox pick-me podcasters whose work he has promoted ... and the antisemitic white nationalist Nick Fuentes
and people are taking sides and splitting with one another
A DOGE architect leaves the movement after Musk feuds with Trump
James Fishback, the chief architect behind the proposal to send “DOGE checks,” told POLITICO Friday he’s stepping away from the movement after Elon Musk lashed out at President Donald Trump.
“The truth is that Elon set expectations that he relayed to the president, me, and the country that he did not come close to fulfilling. That’s disappointing, but okay,” Fishback said. “What’s not okay is his baseless personal attacks against President Trump.”
and some people are picking Musk’s side...
regardless of who you pick...
MAGA's mutually assured destruction
To honor the end of Elon Musk's "incredible" government service, President Trump presented his friend, adviser and billionaire benefactor with a golden key to the White House.
- Six days later, Musk lit the place on fire.
Why it matters: The most powerful civilian ever has effectively declared war on the president of the United States, incinerating their relationship — at least for now — in one of history's most extraordinary political meltdowns.
-
- The long-predicted rupture built over months, but exploded in hours — unfolding in real time in the Oval Office, on Truth Social, and above all, on X.
- The consequences were tectonic, shaking the foundations of a MAGA-tech coalition that has mapped out grand ambitions for Trump's second term.
The big picture: The conflict between two of the world's most powerful men seemed like it was quickly barreling toward mutually assured destruction.
- Musk, who spent nearly $300 million to support Trump and GOP candidates in 2024, views the swelling deficit as an existential threat, and has promised to target any Republican who votes for the bill.
- GOP lawmakers, many of whom have spent years terrified by the prospect of a Trump-backed primary threat, are now praying the president's endorsement is worth more than Musk's war chest.
Why Trump-Musk Feud Has White House in “Full Panic Mode”
Wilson: Look, when I shuffle off this mortal coil at some point, I will be remembered for one rule: Everything Trump touches dies. And for as smart as Elon is supposedly, the idea that he never heard this rule—or didn’t understand that Trump is a man with no loyalty to anyone ever, that no vow, obligation, oath, promise, relationship, contract, deal is ever anything but fungible and ephemeral with Trump—was insane. So look, Elon is not going to be in a happy place here for a lot of reasons. The Trump people are going to try to screw him on his contracts and things like that. But it’s really hard for me to mount a whole big pity party for this guy who jumped into bed with Trump. Was he living in a cave before this? Was he in orbit somewhere? No, he was a human being on the planet Earth. He had to know who Donald Trump was.
Wilson: It will end up, if Elon reshapes this battlefield.... Well, he could turn ... Again, on the back end of Twitter, we know that he boosts and deboosts accounts all the time. We know that he elevates certain content and knocks certain content below the threshold of visibility all the time. He could easily turn Twitter into a machine right now that bashed the tax bill—endlessly bashed the tax bill—and killed it. You want to take revenge on Trump, that’s a good way to kill the bill. You want to show Trump that you’ve got the power, take away his signature piece of legislation.
Wilson: Oh, it is. It’s beyond funny to me because he is a guy who was ready to use his power to victimize a lot of Americans. He was ready to use his power to tear down people who did jobs in this government that were important to the American people. And watching him be on the receiving end of the tornado of Trump’s attacks—karma is a bitch, but occasionally she shows up dressed for the garden party. This guy has gotten, he is really.... In the “fuck around and find out,” he is well into the “finding out” phase.
and this from Wilson
Epstein is the heart of that and he’s talismanic for them in that storyline. Even though Trump and Epstein were close, close, close friends—Trump rode on the jet; Trump partied with him; there were contemporaries quotes by Trump saying, Jeffrey’s a good guy to party with and he likes his ladies on the younger side; all this creepy, gross stuff for years—at the end of the day, Trump never got held to account for being close to Epstein because they hived it off in their mind. They’re like, Nope, nope, nope, nope, didn’t happen. It’s all fake news. It’s not fake. And this idea that we’ve been hearing for a couple of weeks now—that Bondi and Kash Patel and Dan Bongino are slow rolling the Epstein file release—has made MAGA very angry. And now this is like throwing a big old chunk of sodium in the water. It’s going to explode, it’s going to boil over, and it’s going to be lit as hell.
Trump tells ABC Musk 'lost his mind'; 'not particularly' interested in talking to him
In a phone interview Friday morning, hours after his blistering exchange with Elon Musk, President Donald Trump sounded remarkably unconcerned about their feud, as if it weren't even the most interesting thing that happened Thursday.
Speaking on a phone call Friday morning shortly before 7 a.m., ABC News asked him about reports he had a call scheduled with Musk for later in the day..
"You mean the man who has lost his mind?" he asked, saying he was "not particularly" interested in talking to him right now.
He said Musk wants to talk to him, but he's not ready to talk to Musk.
Trump's fight with Musk reveals MAGA's biggest delusion
Even if Musk fails in his efforts to kill Trump's bill, this battle is exposing a deeper truth that the White House can't hide: The MAGA coalition is fragile and some of the differences are starting to tear at the seams less than half a year into the second Trump term. Trump's slim win in 2024 was no doubt due in large part to Musk, and not just the eye-popping quarter-billion-plus Musk spent to push the old man's orange carcass over the finish line. It's because Musk and other influential figures, especially those associated with Silicon Valley or who pretend to be former liberals, were able to convince a chunk of more secular, largely male voters to throw their lot in with the Christian nationalist base that is the backbone of the MAGA movement. But while these two groups joined together based on a shared animosity towards racial minorities and women, it was always a far more uneasy alliance than Musk or Trump wanted to admit. And now it's getting shakier as two narcissistic billionaires are at odds.
"The Silicon Valley tech world does not like this bill," Tim Miller of The Bulwark explained on his podcast Wednesday. It's not just Musk, but many wealthy leaders who are deeply invested in the energy and tech areas that President Joe Biden's administration invested so heavily in. They stabbed Democrats in the back as a thank-you for that money, and now are shocked they are being similarly betrayed by the Republicans they joined up with.
and this!
The fallout from the very public breakup could engulf Republican hopes of holding onto the House.
Elon Musk just launched a war against the GOP. Now the party’s hopes of holding onto power are at stake.
Musk has gone from helping Republicans take total control of Washington — spending nearly $300 million to become the single biggest known donor last year — to attacking the highest-ranking leaders of the party and daring the rank and file to cross him.
Steve Bannon is milking the raging feud between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk for all that it’s worth, warning the Tesla boss: “I will rip your f---ing face off.”
After positioning himself squarely on Team Trump and calling for investigations into Musk and his businesses, now the MAGA loyalist has turned to physical threats to demonstrate his loyalty to the president.
and these assholes!
‘Fox & Friends’ Host Freaks Out About Musk’s ‘Crazy’ Trump War: ‘What Are You Doing?!’
Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade struggled to comprehend just how badly President Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s bubbling feud dramatically escalated during Thursday’s back-and-forth.
“The Epstein file thing was way over the top and just crazy—to say that Trump was in the Epstein files. I mean, what are you doing?” Kilmeade said Friday morning. “Sometimes when people get drunk, they do crazy things. But this is a total escalation.”
and the memes have been great
Democrats are Amazing
So much hating on Dems out there and I am so done with it!
Some people hate just to bring us down and demoralize us.
Some hate because they have picked people they don’t like as “the democratic party” when really we have a big tent and there are tons of people doing tons of stuff YOU would like (no matter who you are).
Some hate because you can find some things you don’t like (or would not have done) because, again, we are a big party MADE UP OF HUMANs who are not perfect but HUMANS.
Some hate because they are uninformed and don’t fact check the freaking internet.
Some hate because they have literally no understand of what a party out of power can and cannot do.
Some people are just haters.
Here is one example of something tons of people hated on WITHOUT CHECKING THEIR FACTS
Here are a bunch of examples of Dems doing great stuff FROM JUST THE LAST FEW DAYS.
And I could have included 10 times the number of things I included. Many amazing people in our party!!!
Dem Keishan Scott won a special election—becoming the youngest member of the SC State House. Scott won by a landslide, with nearly 71% of the vote.
Democrats had a strong night in Mississippi on Tuesday, flipping several seats from red to blue. They even defeated a few incumbent Republican mayors. All in all, it was a horrible sign for the GOP, mirroring Dem gains in other recent elections.
Newark Mayor Ras Baraka sued Alina Habba—Trump’s acting US Attorney for NJ—for what he calls a false arrest and malicious prosecution. This stems from the ICE arrest of Baraka, for which charges have now been dropped.

Speaking of Musk, Dem Sen. Elizabeth Warren released a report detailing 130 examples “of unethical or potentially corrupt actions that benefit Musk or his companies.”
A statement from Warren says these actions “may have violated laws … against bribery and gratuities, or the rules prohibiting use of government positions for private gain—all while benefiting Musk’s companies.”

By the way, now that the divorce is happening with Elon Musk, who is gonna get Big Balls? I'm worried about him."
Representative Rosa DeLaur0 (D-CT)
Representative Rosa DeLaur0 (D-CT) told Vought: “Be honest, this is never about government efficiency. In fact, an efficient government, a government that capably serves the American people and proves good government is achievable is what you fear the most. You want a government so broken, so dysfunctional, so starved of resources, so full of incompetent political lackeys and bereft of experts and professionals that its departments and agencies cannot feasibly achieve the goals and the missions to which they are lawfully directed. Your goal is privatization, for the biggest companies to have unchecked power, for an economy that does not work for the middle class, for working and vulnerable families. You want the American people to have no one to turn to, but to the billionaires and the corporations this administration has put in charge. Waste, fraud, and abuse are not the targets of this administration. They are your primary objectives.”
Obama
Former President Barack Obama has made it clear from the start that he’s against Trump’s ugly budget bill. Obama said that the GOP Medicaid cuts mean “families, the elderly, folks with disabilities—won’t be able to get the lifesaving treatment, medication, or care they need.”
Just yesterday, Obama delivered a powerful call to action to all of us, saying: “Congressional Republicans are trying to weaken the Affordable Care Act and put millions of people at risk of losing their health care. Call your Senators and tell them we can't let that happen.”
Other good news
We’ll start out with my favorite kind of good news— things everyone freaked out about that ended up not actually happening (or being undone) because we raised our voices about them.
Mistakenly deported Kilmar Abrego Garcia on way back to US
Mistakenly deported Salvadoran native Kilmar Abrego Garcia is on his way back to the United States
Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran native who had been living with his wife and children in Maryland, was deported in March to El Salvador's CECOT mega-prison -- despite a 2019 court order barring his deportation to that country due to fear of persecution -- after the Trump administration claimed he was a member of the criminal gang MS-13. His wife and attorneys deny that he is an MS-13 member.

Trump races to fix a big mistake: DOGE fired too many people
Early this spring, the Food and Drug Administration fired nearly 50 workers in the Office of Regulatory Policy — only to turn around and order them back to the office with one day’s notice.
After dismissing thousands of probationary employees for fabricated “performance” issues, the IRS reversed course and told them to show up to work in late May.
And some staff at the U.S. Agency for International Development, dismantled in the first days of the Trump administration by a gleeful Elon Musk and his cost-cutting team at the U.S. DOGE Service, checked their inboxes this month to find an unexpected offer: Would you consider returning — to work for the State Department?
Across the government, the Trump administration is scrambling to rehire many federal employees dismissed under DOGE’s staff-slashing initiatives after wiping out entire offices, in some cases imperiling key services such as weather forecasting and the drug approval process.

Trump Administration Bows to Judge and Brings Deportee Back to U.S.
The Trump administration acquiesced to a judge’s order that it return a a wrongfully deported Guatemalan man. The man, identified in court documents as O.C.G., has been transported to a detention facility in Arizona, Politico reported. He was deported in February despite a judge blocking his deportation order because of O.C.G.’s fears of persecution for being gay. The Trump administration shipped O.C.G to Mexico, where he said he had previously been held hostage and raped by a group of men. Rather than seek asylum in Mexico, a fearful O.C.G. fled to Guatemala, where he has lived in hiding ever since. Last month, a federal judge ordered the Trump administration to facilitate O.C.G.’s return to the U.S. so that he can make his case before an immigration judge. The administration has now followed the order
and this:
Trump administration changes mind, won’t cut Social Security benefits over defaulted student loans
- Social Security recipients do not need to worry about their benefits being garnished due to their defaulted student loans, at least for now.
- The development is an abrupt change in policy by the administration, which had announced in April that it would be resuming collection activity on defaulted student loan borrowers.
- The Education Dept. had said that Social Security benefit offsets could begin as early as June.
After firms struck deals to avoid punitive executive orders, some big clients decided to take their business elsewhere
Support for the law firms that didn’t make deals has been growing inside the offices of corporate executives. At least 11 big companies are moving work away from law firms that settled with the administration or are giving—or intend to give—more business to firms that have been targeted but refused to strike deals, according to general counsels at those companies and other people familiar with those decisions.
Among them are technology giant Oracle, investment bank Morgan Stanley, an airline and a pharmaceutical company. Microsoft expressed reservations about working with a firm that struck a deal, and another such firm stopped representing McDonald’s in a case a few months before a scheduled trial.
this is not “good news” in the traditional sense, but it is good news in that it will help us take the House because it will make people realize how bad this asshole is for the economy — and that is all some people pay attention to

A new OECD report found the president’s signature economic policy is dragging the global economy down—with the U.S. among the worst affected.
President Donald Trump’s trade policies are triggering a global economic downturn, but the president apparently hasn’t gotten the memo.
“Because of Tariffs, our Economy is BOOMING!” Trump boasted in a Truth Social post early Tuesday. Within hours, a damning economic forecast came to the opposite conclusion.
The Paris-based OECD released a forecast predicting global economic growth will slow to 2.9 percent this year, down from 3.3 percent in 2024. The U.S. economy, in particular, is expected to see its growth slow from 2.8 percent to just 1.6 percent, Bloomberg reported.
The OECD’s economists cited Trump’s tariff chaos as the major driver of the gloomier outlook. The combination of trade barriers and economic uncertainty is lowering confidence and hurting investment, while adding to inflationary pressures, the report said.
GOP senators question cost of Army’s parade spectacle
The top Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee is expressing skepticism over the Army’s plan to hold a multimillion-dollar parade in Washington on June 14 — even as service leaders defend it as a vital recruiting tool.
Wicker isn’t the only Republican to question the parade plans. Senate Appropriations Chair Susan Collins (R-Maine) said she supports celebrating the Army’s 250th birthday but raised eyebrows at the cost estimate.
“I’m glad that we’re honoring the Army. I think that’s really important to recognize such a significant anniversary,” Collins said in a recent interview. But, she added, “the cost does seem a bit steep.”
Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), one of the chamber’s most outspoken fiscal hawks, was blunt: “If it costs money, I won’t go,” he said.
The momentum shifts in favor of Democrats
For the first time, it appears that the reconciliation bill may fail in its current form. That dawning recognition was followed by a series of court losses that apparently infuriated Trump, who promptly unleashed another series of illegal, retaliatory executive orders.
The reconciliation bill received two body blows on Wednesday. The Congressional Budget Office released a report that said the bill would increase the deficit by $2.4 trillion and force 10.9 million people off insurance.
Then Elon Musk resumed his attack on the reconciliation bill
Trump loses multiple cases on Wednesday.
Trump lost several significant court rulings on Wednesday. Judge Boasberg certified the class of Venezuelan migrants deported to El Salvador and ruled that they are entitled to due process to seek habeas corpus.
The First Circuit Court of Appeals refused to lift an injunction issued by a lower court that found Trump's effort to dismantle the Department of Education was unconstitutional and illegal. Trump cannot proceed with gutting US Education Department, court rules
Ukraine has lots of cards
Urkranian President Zelensky justifiably celebrated the mission in a post, saying: “Today, a brilliant operation was carried out. The preparation took over a year and a half. What’s most interesting, is that the ‘office’ of our operation on Russian territory was located directly next to FSB headquarters in one of their regions.” He called the results of the assault “absolutely brilliant” and added, “Ukraine is defending itself, and rightly so — we are doing everything to make Russia feel the need to end this war.”

Democracy Wins a Referendum in South Korea
A great deal has happened since. From December through April, there were ecstatic daily protests, demanding that Yoon be ousted. These were followed by Yoon’s impeachment by the National Assembly, his criminal indictment, his formal removal by the Constitutional Court—and, this Tuesday, a snap election to replace him. In the 2022 Presidential election, Lee lost to Yoon by less than one per cent. This time, he won by more than eight points. He will be inaugurated on Wednesday, beginning a five-year term.

“Whatever happens, stay alive.
Don't die before you're dead.
Don't lose yourself, don't lose hope, don't lose direction.
Stay alive, with yourself, with every cell of your body, with every fiber of your skin.
Stay alive, learn, study, think, read, build, invent, create, speak, write, dream, design.
Stay alive, stay alive inside you, stay alive also outside, fill yourself with colors of the world, fill yourself with peace, fill yourself with hope.
Stay alive with joy.
There is only one thing you should not waste in life,
and that's life itself..."

Side by side on a log by the bay.
Sunlight. Unleashed dogs,
prancing through surf, almost exploding
out of their skins with perfect happiness.
Dogs who don't know about fired park rangers,
or canceled health research, or tariff wars,
or the suicide hotline for veterans getting defunded,
or or or. We've listed horror upon horror
to each other for weeks now, and it does no good,
so instead I tell her how I held a two-day old baby
in my arms, inhaling him like a fresh-baked loaf of bread,
then watched as a sneeze erupted through his body
like a tiny volcano. It was the look of pure
astonishment on his face, as if he were Adam
in the garden of Eden making his debut achoo,
as if it were the first sneeze that ever blew,
that got me. She tells me how her dog
once farted so loudly he startled himself
and fell off the bed where he'd been lolling,
and then the two of us start to laugh so hard
we almost fall off our own log. And this
is our resistance for today; remembering
original innocence. And they can't
take it away from us, though they ban
our very existence, though they slash
our rights to ribbons, we will have
our mirth and our birthright gladness.
Long after every unsold Tesla
has vaporized, and earth has closed over
even the names of these temporary tyrants,
somewhere some women like us
will be sitting side by side, facing the water,
telling human stories and laughing still.
I am so proud and so lucky to be in this with all of you. ✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿 💙❤️💛💚✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿
