Erick Erickson, I know you don’t want to shoot yourself in the foot, but you missed the target completely.
‘This is Socialism!’ Conservative Radio Host Slams Trump Admin For Wanting Stake In Private Company
Erickson explained Lutnick’s policy and added, “Well, there you have it. Howard Lutnick, the commerce secretary. He’s the genius behind the aggressive tariffs, also now appears to be the genius behind the socialism that he wants the Trump administration to embrace.”
Erickson, who has been a critic of Trump’s less conservative actions, went on to compare Lutnick to the Democratic Socialist candidate for mayor of New York, Zohran Mamdani.
“The commerce secretary said Tuesday Intel must give the United States government an equity stake in the company in return for CHIPS Act funds. “We should get an equity stake for our money. So we’ll deliver the money, which was already committed under the Biden administration, we’ll get equity in return for it.” I’m sorry, but no, this is terrible. This is socialism!” Erickson fumed, adding:
When you target:
- A whole group of people of Spanish/Portugeuse/C and South American origin, e.g., Latinos, with a Gestapo/Stasi, i.e, ICE.
- When you cannot compete, you impose an import tax [misnamed tariffs]
- When you seek control of corporations but do not change their objectives apart from DEI
- When you have a bloated military.
- When you put troops on the nation's streets.
- You are going down the road of authoritarianism and nationalism.
You have a choice of three.
- 1) Nationalism
- 2) Stalinism
- 3) American Exceptionalism with a Unitary Executive
What you do not have is ownership by the people. i.e., Socialism or even Christianity
Socialism
Socialism is an economic and political system characterized by social ownership and control of the means of production, rather than private ownership. It encompasses a range of diverse economic and social systems, all united by the common goal of greater equality and social welfare
Erick, do not let your hatred of socialism get in the way of reality; this in no way represents the reality of what is occurring.
In reality, what you have is a logical progression from capitalism and corporatism under a unitary executive and a mummified electoral system.
American Nazism/Stalinism would be a more accurate term, take your pick.
Or let's simplify it and call it: American fascism
