Good morning, folks.
The band Toto took a bit of heat when they began releasing their own stuff. I remember one critic saying they sound like a bunch of studio musicians who decided to cut a single. But so what if they were? It’s hard to find fault with their actual music. It’s still pleasing to the ear.

I hope everyone is having a pleasant morning. Central Wisconsin is currently warmer and more humid than normal for this time of year. In past years our first Autumn frost happened as early as September 15th. Instead, this year mid-September is bringing us near record warmth. While I can’t complain about the prolonged Summer, I am starting to crave some of our traditional Autumn dishes. Yesterday I polished off my first batch of Ginger-pear crisp of the season. My apple trees look like they will give me a good crop this year. I love how the smell of warm cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger complement baking apples on a crisp Fall afternoon. It goes well with a pot of bean soup.
