We’re moving on to Tuesday. Which is just what they want you to think!

We’re still not at the point where I can promise we won’t wander off into continued fallout from the shooting. But here’s hoping! Because there’s still a lot of other dumb $#*+ happening.

Today’s countdown numbers:

15 days until the “legal” funding for what’s left of the US government runs out… again!
1,222 days remaining in Trump’s legal term of office
413 days until the midterm elections, if we have them
474 days—if we have those elections—until we seat that new Congress.

Our new random country generator says, today’s an unlucky day for: ~~Zimbabwe~~ San Marino!

I think that’s the third of the European microstate trifecta. We’ve hit Andorra and Vatican City before, but this is the first time around for San Marino. Now, I would have guessed Trump would think is fictional, but it actually did make it onto his “Liberation Day” (remember that?) tariff charts, though they only drew a 10% tariff. But that was Trump’s way of saying either, “Oh, that’s a country? Fine, then. Do a tariff,” or “I’ve heard of that place, but I don’t know if they even export anything.”

The fact that it’s small raises the stakes somewhat, I’d say. He probably thinks he can do the job with some National Guard troops.

Keep your head down, San Marino! It’ll pass!
