The Trump administration filed new allegations against Mahmoud Khalil, the former Columbia University graduate student. Sep 18, 2025
In court documents made public Wednesday, an immigration judge in Louisiana ruled that Khalil should be deported for failing to disclose information on his green card application.
*Khalil allegedly did not disclose that he was an employee, of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
And that, Khalil failed to disclose his employment at British Embassy, Syria Office, in Beirut, Lebanon, when he applied for US permanent residency in 2024, according to a March 17 document, which the government referenced in its filing.

For now, Khalil remains protected from detention and deportation under a separate judicial order. His legal team has said they intend to appeal the immigration judge’s ruling,
