Overpass Messaging: A Creative Way to Fight the Forces of Evil

This messaging by University of Washington students on a Seattle freeway overpass is the most creative version of displaying a protest in such a simple manner that I have ever witnessed. Each student holds a single letter, and every 5 seconds they each turn their individual letter around to form a different protest message. This overpass messaging should be spread far and wide across hundreds of freeway overpasses across the country.

There are many creative ways to fight the forces of authoritarianism and the abuses of ICE. To be effective, however, the efforts must be relentless, persistent, and longlasting. This can’t be just a one-off weekend protest and then that’s all there is. Organize a group that is composed of willing individuals who volunteer to stand on an overpass for an hour or more each day especially during rush hours. Change the message, particularly as the outrageous actions of ICE proliferate across the U.S.
