For the holidays, I always like to do some handmade gifts for family members. I've done a variety of things, wall hangings, tote bags, pillows, etc. This year I decided on handmade ornaments.
I did four of them for four families. Some, like the ornament above is embroidered. The red ornament hanging from the holly is raised off the surface with stitching beneath it.
Another ornament I did that was entirely embroidery is below
From EGA NeedleArts magazine, again with some adaptions
It has what is called a woven rose in the center with holly and bittersweet, along with a bit more embroidery.
The last ornaments were similar but reversed in color.
Appliqued and embroidered Poinsettia Pattern from Primitive Gatherings, with adaptions
I did an obvious shift for the last ornament.

I know the main question readers will have is where did I get the frames. I got them at Michaels. You have to search around for these at Christmas. They are usually on an end cap. They have round and square frames with different designs. I liked these for what I was doing.
Now the usual question: What Are You Working On?
