We Continue Downhill

Meanwhile, as matters continue to go downhill, the Governor of Minnesota mobilized the state National Guard, the Department of Defense put several battalions of the 11th Airborne (based in Alaska, so equipped for cold weather),  on standby alert for deployment to Minnesota, and I am starting to see images of street demonstrations against ICE in which the people in front are carrying rifles, what appear to AR-15s or their relatives.

Discussions of the shooting and death of Renee Good now are trending in tone toward discussions of the Dreyfuss affair in French politics, in which both sides had immutable opinions that for the next near-half-century poisoned French politics.
