Continuing the countdown of Barstool Mountain’s Top 100 Drinking Songs:

#76 — Whiskey Bottle - Uncle Tupelo

We’ve now made it through the first quarter of the list. The bottom 25 contains only a handful of songs that I’ll ever choose to listen to again, and this isn’t one of them. 

Google calls Uncle Tupelo “alternative country”, the song has (to my ear) a sort of grunge influence and they bring in the guitars LOUD on the chorus so it’s hard to understand any lyrics except “whiskey bottle”.

Last weekend I made dinner for some sports-watching friends and I asked one of them to bring me some IPA. I guess I needed to be more specific, because he brought a Lagunitas sampler 12-pack and there’s only one of the 4 included beers that I like. I’m good with the original Lagunitas IPA, I don’t care much for any of their other flavors. Not pour-it-out bad, but nothing I’ll buy again. I like the artwork of “Beast of Both Worlds” better than I like the contents.

The new beer this week that I like is pictured at top, Sunset Stroll IPA from Pizza Port (Carlsbad CA). My local Trader Joe’s got this in recently, replacing the Pizza Port Beachside Reset, and I like it just as much. 7.0% abv, hopped with Simcoe, Citra, Superdelic, Simcoe Cryo, and HBC1019 Cryo.
