Lot’s of y’all who are reading this are preparing for an ice storm. It’s forecast to be a bad one, affecting many millions of people in the south and mid-Atlantic to say the least. This is the kind of storm that has the potential to knock power out all over the place for days and days. I know tons of people who are preparing for it.
Well, according to a spot I just watched from CNN, the Department of Homeland Security has issued guidance to FEMA to minimize the use of the word “ice” when talking about this storm.
Ain’t that some shit?
So here’s the message I want to send. The United States of America is under severe threat from an ICE storm. Everyone should take measures to protect themselves. ICE is dangerous and can be life threatening. Don’t take any chances. Now is the time to connect with your community where there’s knowledge, training, and access to resources it will take for you to protect yourself from the upcoming ICE storm.
Hope it’s not as bad as the worst forecasts. Wishing all of you safety throughout and a brighter future on the other side of it!
