The collapse of US brand value under Trump
Despite Donald Trump’s blustering about how the United States is so much more respected internationally under him, any reality-based person knows this is blustering absurdity. Occasionally, there is data that makes this point clear. An international polling of G7 citizens shows a dramatic fall from 2024 to 2025: from 30th to 48th place out of 60 countries.
The United States has experienced the largest drop in its international reputation score in 2025. Specifically, the U.S. fell 18 positions, from 30th to 48th place, losing 6.7 points. This decline places its reputation in the "weak" category on the RepCore® normative scale, with particularly low ratings among the populations of traditional allies such as Canada and the United Kingdom, while showing improvement only among Russian citizens. The aspects of the U.S. reputation that were most penalized were "commitment to the international community," "fight against climate change," "friendly business environment," and "respected leaders."
Note that this ranking dates from the fall with polling earlier in 2025.
Putting aside the second half of 2025, just consider the first week of January 2026:
- Attack on Venezuela
- Fumbling nature of post attack plans and policies
- Threats against Mexico, Cuba, Greenland
- Murdering of US citizens
- Withdrawal from numerous international organizations
And, well, even in just a week, the list could be much longer.
Trump and his GOP sycophants are intent on ending U.S. Democracy, drive fossil-foolish climate science denialism, are devastating future economic prospects, undermine international alliances, and … And, should it surprise anyone that the world notices.
Under Trump, Brand USA is badly damaged.
Looks to be that Trump is intent to drive U.S. brand value even lower.

Reputation matters for brand value.
Under Donald Trump, the USA Brand Value is collapsing.
"The United States has dropped from 30th to 48th ... the biggest drop of any nation BY FAR. Its reputation-peers are now Kuwait, Algeria, Kazakhstan…”
48 to start 2026 off. 100 to end it?
