Russia fired an Oreshnik intermediate-range ballistic missile at the western city of Lviv. Oreshnik travels at Mach 10 (7,600 mph). Oreshnik is nuclear capable and carries MIRVed warheads, which is a ballistic missile version of cluster munitions.
Russia has fired at least one other Oreshnik at Ukraine in November 2024 when it targeted Dnipro.
At that speed it is difficult to bring down, although at least two missile systems are capable — the Arrow 3 made by Israel and the American ship-based RIM-161 Standard Missile 3.

Footage suggests that Russia indeed launched an Oreshnik (RS-26 Rubezh) IRBM against Lviv, Ukraine. The inert entry vehicles come down and can cause damage by kinetic energy.
Except in one case, previous attempts to fire that missile ended in failures.

There are already reports of fuel shortages in Belgorod, and big queues at most gas stations in the Russian city.
Too bad, so sad.
Ukraine also attacked Russia’s power plant in Oryol (Orel), which is north of the city of Kursk.

Norway should just go ahead and close the border.
This should result in an expulsion of Russian diplomats from Germany. But it won’t.

2/ Andrei Vladimirovich Shekhovtsev, a member of the Russian 60th Separate motorised rifle brigade (military unit 16871), says that his commanders are systematically abusing, extorting and killing the men under their command.
3/ He says that his evacuation group was ordered on the night of 1 January 2026 to deliver alcohol and red caviar to a command position for a celebration. He refused, citing the danger of Ukrainian attacks. The order was reissued to some Russian drone operators instead.
4/ Shekhovtsev says that the drone operators had previously been forbidden from leaving their shelters because of the high risk of death. One of them was killed during the delivery attempt. Acccording to Shekhovtsev, his group was ordered to go and retrieve the lost alcohol.
5/ He says that his platoon commander, Alexander Pavlinsky, call sign "Otzhimshchik" ('Squeezer'), told them that if they did not bring him the alcohol he would kill them himself.
….
14/ When he and his men travelled to the military commandant's office, instead of being able to submit a complaint they were made to dig their own graves every day while being held there. The men also lacked adequate living conditions and food.

Even church services are more expensive in Russia.
When Anastasia, a resident of Kopeysk in Russia’s Chelyabinsk region, went to order memorial prayers for deceased relatives, she was stunned by the new prices. Two years ago, she paid 100 rubles ($1.25) per name for a year. Now the same prayer costs 5,000 rubles ($62) per name.
“I saw the price list and froze,” she told reporters. “I used to give 1,000 rubles [$12.50] and list ten names. Now it’s 5,000 for just one. I couldn’t believe it.”
At her church, the so-called “voluntary donations” that parishioners make for religious rites rose sharply last winter. Across Russia, the cost of church services has increased by nearly 40 percent since the start of the full-scale war, according to a recent analysis by The Moscow Times’ Russian-language service.
