Happy Wednesday! Enough with the groundhog thing, already!

The partial government is apparently over, so we’ll have that procedure to straighten out. But we’re also now just ten days away from… another partial government shutdown, although this one would “only” impact the so-called “Department of Homeland Security.”

Greg Dworkin went away, but he came back the day after what was then tomorrow. In the meantime, things kept going badly, and the president did more dementias, so there’s lots to talk about. We’ll do it in polite form, likely by discussing data about how desperately unpopular the president is, and how badly it’s damaging his entirely “political party.”

Today’s countdown numbers:

The government shutdown is over! 10 more days until… the next partial government shutdown!
1,081 days remaining in Trump’s legal term of office
272 days until the midterm elections, if we have them
333 days—if we have those elections—until we seat that new Congress.
