How do we protect the 2026 elections?
We start now by building an Election Integrity Team that is trained, prepared, and present in every room where democracy is decided.
Arizona Native Democrats are launching a new Election Integrity Program to recruit, train, and retain volunteers who will defend every step of the electoral process in 2026 and make sure every eligible ballot is counted and every voice is heard.
This is not symbolic work. This is hands on, eyes on democracy defense.
Our Election Integrity volunteers will:

Monitor policy changes at the local, state, and federal level

Serve as partisan poll observers on Election Day

Proof ballots for accuracy before voting begins

Observe early-ballot signature verification
-
Observe ballot counting at central count locations

Participate in state-mandated hand counts and recounts

Observe ballot curing and adjudication processes
That’s a long list because the attacks on our democracy are happening at every stage of the process. In 2026, we cannot afford blind spots. We need truth tellers in every room where elections are administered and ballots are handled.
And we are preparing like never before.
Arizona Native Democrats have never stopped organizing but this moment demands more. We are recruiting community members who refuse to let our democracy die and training them to protect it. That work is especially challenging in the communities we serve: a turf spanning nearly 40,000 square miles, with vast rural and Tribal areas where internet and cell service are limited or nonexistent.
To do this work right, we must invest in:

Travel and delivery of materials

Community-hosted training locations

Printed resources and supplies

Volunteer coordination across remote regions
These costs add up but the cost of not doing this work is far greater.
