I have taken the first flight towards home, which was just to Bangkok. After two days here, the real journey begins: up to Japan, across to Seattle and then down to Denver. All in one day! At least this time I wasn’t trying to fly around the world, which would have led me straight through the Middle East in one fashion or another. What a mess that would have been.
Tomorrow in Bangkok it’s supposed to be 99 degrees. It felt like that today since there was similar temperature and no wind to speak of. We will see if we can find something like a mall that’s air conditioned and a taxi to take us there. Our (mine and my sister’s) flights the next morning will require us to head to the airport early, so we probably will get to bed early.
I am looking forward to some winter(ish) weather when I get back to Colorado on Wednesday and then on Thursday. I’ve had too many days straight in the 90’s and I’d like to go back to winter, or at least spring.
What has been going on in Colorado? Oh, that’s right! Lauren Boebert stopped being a responsible lawmaker by trying to take care of her constituents’ water needs and went back to being a rule-breaking ass by taking a picture of Hillary Clinton in her closed questioning hearing about Epstein and then transmitting it to her favorite podcaster to post during the session. 3rd District, you must be soooo proud.
On another front, the Colorado Sun looks at the continuing problems the lack of federal money is causing to the areas that never saw FEMA money to help with wildfire, flooding and other disaster assistance funds applied for and turned down by Trump, possibly because of various beefs he has with the Democrats who run Colorado.
It’s time to start thinking about the upcoming primary elections. Do you have any candidates you want to promote? Do you have anyone you want to not see get elected — besides Boebert or the generic Republican? Let us know in the comments down below. Even if you don’t receive a tip or reply, your comment will be read by people and it can possibly sway people to your candidate.
I will be back for next week’s column. Until then, the floor is yours.
