New rule(s) here:
Murray's English grammar and exercises with questions adapted to the use of schools and academies : also an appendix containing
rules and observations for writing with perspecuity and accuracy.
OK I’m not sure about the whole perspecuity thing. Let’s go with something that doesn’t require a dictionary.
One word rule…treat everyone with:
Respect
Tuesdays theme: drums
Drums!, drummers or songs that feature drums prominently.
There are so many great drummers — for so many reasons…I’m going to drop a few names to get us started.
The late Neal Peart from Rush.
Neal was not the original drummer for Rush. He was playing in a jazz band when Rush decided to replace the original drummer (who they feared would not survive their first US tour)…and found Neal.
On that first tour with him Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson noticed he read all the time and had a better vocabulary than they did…so he became the lyricist for the band. He later talked about feeling lucky about being the lyricist since he could more easily integrate the drums with the lyrics … in any case he is regarded as a great drummer (and famously stand offish with fans).
Danny Carey from Tool
OK — I was late to Tool and even then it was an acquired taste. But now, to Ms Neurons dismay, I could listen to them ad nauseam.
Setting that aside, Danny Carey is considered, like Neal Peart to be a great drummer. This is a long clip that opens with him on drums.
(also…Boston Celtics :-) )
Meg White from White Stripes.
A controversial drummer in the sense that some consider her to be not good at all….while others consider her great precisely because she is uniquely different in her simplicity. I have to say I have come around to the latter — she gave the white stripes a unique and consistent drum sound.
by the by, Rush, for the first time since Neal Pearts death, is touring with Anika Nilles on drums this year.
Bits and Bobs. Odd and Ends.
at the moment I’m in sunny Florida and so my local history haunt has also moved…. we’ve been visiting here for years…well, actually generations on Ms Neurons side of the family. Her folks had a little cinder block house here.
Apartments,Not the actual house but you get the idea. The house was not much bigger.
I recall bringing our kids to the knollwood nursery written about below and taking the tram there. We didn’t see the alligator show. At least I don’t recall it. Think I’d remember that!

The entrance to the knollwood nursery off Laurence rd
The road it was on, Laurence, was a sleepy one. Two lanes. No shoulders, no sidewalks. No street lights. There was a couple mobile home parks and a few houses but mostly it was miles of undeveloped or agricultural land
Today it’s 4 travel lanes, plus turn lanes and side walks. heavily traveled. The nurseries are all gone replaced by residential developments.
another thing long gone…mar lago beach club. No, not that one…this one:

and no…..I didn’t forget
Railroads

That’s it folks! Have a great day and drop some drum related comment with your good mornings!
I know you won’t disappoint and I’ll be a learning!
