A Russian LNG tanker is on fire in the Mediterranean near Malta after what might have been a hit from a sea drone. I’ve seen one report — unconfirmed, of course — that suggested Ukraine struck it with drones deployed from a base Ukraine has been using on the Libyan coast.
The ship is reported to have loaded LNG at Murmansk on Feb. 18. Liquified natural gas BTW is not flammable or explosive while in a liquid state.
The Arctic Metagaz was built in 2003 and is 277 meters long.

Credible reports that ginormous Russian LNG (liquid natural gas) tanker Arctic Metagaz is on fire in Mediterranean. Reports suggest it was hit be a USV (uncrewed surface vessel)
Whether Iran linked or Ukraine, very big implications for Russian war effort

The Arctic Metagaz is one of about a dozen tankers used by Russia to transport LNG.
A representative of the Diaplous Group, a maritime security and risk management firm based in Greece, confirmed to gCaptain by phone that the vessel was indeed on fire. “We can confirm it happened, but we do not know any further details at this time,” the representative said.
According to vessel tracking data, the Arctic Metagaz loaded LNG at the Saam floating storage unit (FSU) on February 18 before transiting around the United Kingdom and Spain into the Mediterranean. The vessel’s Automatic Identification System (AIS) signal was reportedly lost yesterday while it was approximately 30 nautical miles off Malta’s northeastern coast.
Ukraine’s attack on the port at Novorossiysk may have netted a frigate. Speculation is that it is either the Admiral Essen or Admiral Makarov. These are ships capable of launching Kalibr missiles.
Ukraine is keeping the pressure on Belgorod.

Ukraine has been making slow but steady progress in taking back lost territory.

🇷🇺⚡️🇺🇦A Finnish analytical center, Black Bird Group, reports that in February,Russia lost more territory than it gained for the first time in many months. Over the course of the month, Russian forces lost a total of 37 km² of #Ukrainian territory.

2/ This marks Russia’s first net territorial loss (since) November 2023.
The main reason is Ukraine’s counteroffensives on the southern front, through which Ukrainian forces recaptured 213 km² of territory
3/ Most of these gains occurred in the Huliaipole area, where Russia lost control of 192 km².Ukrainian units reached the village of Ternovate and bypassed Verbove, though it remains unclear whether they have consolidated these positions.
4/ The situation remains dynamic, with much of the recaptured territory still in the “gray zone.” The Huliaipole direction has long been problematic for Ukraine, as Russian forces had advanced faster there than in any other section of the front.
Ukraine’s air defense is looking pretty good by comparison.
x
The fact that Iranian drones are striking targets across the Middle East and reaching even Cyprus (btw. Hallo, Fidias) while facing 8 countries with highly advanced Air Force’s and air defense assets underlines how skilled Ukrainian air defense has become.

🔥 SIGNUM soldiers continue to destroy the enemy in the Lyman direction!
They pounded a buggy on the move with a full set of explosives, eliminated two more on an ATV, burned down Niva, NRK and caught the desperate Russians in the forest.

Trump went on a late-night social media rant about the U.S. stockpile of weapons being depleted — thanks in part to his war in Iran -- except he blamed Joe Biden and referred to Zelenskyy as P.T. Barnum.
Looks like this Russian is having a raging case of buyers remorse.
Zelenskyy is correct about this. Russia must either withdraw or be pushed back from Kharkiv.
Orban is grasping at straws now.

"Hungary summoned Kyiv's ambassador on Monday to protest at what the Budapest government said was the conscription of two ethnic Hungarians." These two guys are Ukrainian citizens. The Orban govt's sole grounds here are ethnicity? whut?

Interceptor drones have made a huge difference in the battle against Russian Shaheds.
Find the antenna and you find the drone operator.

Russia lost Starlink and switched to Wi-Fi antennas. Ukraine's 59th brigade started hunting them.
Find the antenna, find the drone pilots. And intercepted radio chatter shows Russian operators can't even get stable internet for command coordination.
