It’s our first wartime Tuesday… in a while.

Tuesdays have taken on the feel of Fridays, lately, and not just because they’re both typically solo days. (Though there’s a relationship, to be sure.)

After a frantic Monday catching up from Weekend Chaos™, we begin to experience the pile-up effect on other news stories, and Tuesday is an early opportunity to release some of that pressure.

We probably will not take it!

• We’re in Day 18 of the latest DHS shutdown — in the middle of a war!*
• 1,054 days remaining in Trump’s legal term of office
• 245 days until the midterm elections, if we have them
• 306 days—if we have those elections—until we seat that new Congress.
