Trump ignored shouted questions about Iran war and U.S. casualties and instead pointed reporters toward new, so badly proportioned and rendered statues in the Rose Garden, that MSM/WHCA reporters couldn’t tell the difference between Jefferson and Hamilton.
“Unbelievable statues, come take a look at them.”
On Monday morning, a White House official told the Daily Beast the same claim: that the two statues were of ‘Jefferson’ and the unmistakable Benjamin Franklin.
But 90 minutes later, the same official was in touch with a “clarification.” Thomas Jefferson was, in fact, Alexander Hamilton—meaning they had confused two of the Founding Fathers whose profound ideological opposition to each other is well known to anyone who has studied AP U.S. History.
The email making a “clarification” was sent by a White House official who has previously called a Daily Beast reporter a “glue-sniffer” and accused another of “swollen stupidity.”

The statues depict two of the country's founding fathers: Thomas Jefferson(sic) and Benjamin Franklin. Reuters photos show a statue of George Washington had already appeared in the Rose Garden in October.
The White House said the statues are on loan "from generous private American patriots."
How Jefferson and Hamilton were confused was unclear. The two were not just ideological rivals; contemporary images of them are hardly identical.

Trump: "See that nice drape? When that comes down right now you see a very very deep hole, but in about a year and half you're gonna see a very very beautiful building. In fact, it looks so nice I think I'll leave it and save money on the doors. I believe it will be the most beautiful ballroom."

Droit trumps Gauche as White House GOPhascists can't identify founding fathers
Trump’s Iran policy is, unfortunately, perfectly consistent with the rest of his incoherent and bloodthirsty approach to the world. Bombing Iran for their fictional interference in the 2020 election is of a piece with his desire to annex Greenland because it looks big in the Mercator Projection and with his attack on Venezuela because sending the military in provides him with the rush of a television show. It would almost be funny, except for the part where the commander in chief of the most powerful military in the world keeps using it to murder people around the globe as he giggles and mutters over and over, “That’ll show Joe Biden!”
With those caveats, though, the logic was correct. If nuclear weapons were to get into the hands of an unrestrained, bloodthirsty, and irrational actor, it would be a nightmare scenario.
