The felon started a war last Friday, plunging the world into chaos, and setting billions, possibly trillions of our dollars on fire.
He has given a few reasons for this war, but as he lies all the time, we can’t take any of his reasons as real. As so many have said, watch what they do, not what they say.
So I’ve collected a set of reasons he may have started this war. Some I have heard from others, a few are my own ideas.
This is speculation, but not just speculation. We need to figure out which resonate with us and our fellow citizens. Which reasons can be used to reduce his regime to rubble.
Also, add your own.
1. Distraction from Epstein and the Economy.
Epstein:
Credible clain that he abused a minor:
The Clintons testified, which makes it really hard to claim that presidents and cabinet members and first ladies cannot testify.
The Economy
Jobs
x
Based on February 2026 data revisions from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), more jobs were created in most individual months of the Biden presidency than in the entire year of 2025 under Donald Trump.
2025 was the weakest year for job growth since 2003.

National debt
x
As of February 2026, the U.S. national debt is approximately $38.5 trillion to $38.8 trillion and growing. President Joe Biden inherited Trump's debt. Trump 38 trillion. President Joe Biden? 4.7 trillion. Over 16 million jobs. Fastest post-pandemic recovery in the world. Trump's job record? Sucks.

Inflation
One bright spot for some was the stock market; Pam Bondi — who should be concerned about the DOJ — was bragging about it. But now he has tanked that:
2. Rich and corrupt dictators asked him to do it or even paid him to do it
Also, this raises the price of oil for Putin!
3. Wants to play warrior/strongman
The felon’s favorite adjective is “strong.” Maybe he thought a war would improve his image. Besides, why have a military if you don’t use it?

Trump: "The genetics in that family are very strong. You have good genes. They were asking me, 'What does that mean?' I said, 'Don't worry about it. You'll figure it out.' But you have the best genes you can have."

4. America Last
As the felon has so often branded his intentions as the exact opposite of what he does (e.g. Truth Social is a place for lies), maybe the America First has always meant America Last (possibly at Putin’s behest).
It aligns with so many other actions this regime has taken: giving 40 billion of our taxes to Argentina; ruining our relationships with so many allies; gutting our institutions, our science, our health, and elevating stupid industries such as coal. Adding trillions to the national debt, spilling the blood of our soldiers and the treasure of our country.
It’s as if he’s trying to ruin the country.
5. Start the end times
A. Religious
Starting the end times was not on my bingo card, but then I saw it here at Daily Kos (Dan K)
The Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) reports that it is getting a big increase in complaints from troops who are being told that Trump’s attack on Iran is the opening round of the End Times war: MRFF Inundated with Complaints of Gleeful Commanders Telling Troops Iran War is “Part of God’s Divine Plan” to Usher in the Return of Jesus Christ
“This morning our commander opened up the combat readiness status briefing by urging us to not be “afraid” as to what is happening with our combat operations in Iran right now. He urged us to tell our troops that this was “all part of God’s divine plan” and he specifically referenced numerous citations out of the Book of Revelation referring to Armageddon and the imminent return of Jesus Christ. He said that “President Trump has been anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth.” — MRFF active duty NCO client, writing on behalf of themself and 15 other unit members
Well, the felon has been talking a lot about getting into heaven lately, so maybe that’s it.
B. Or maybe it’s not religious, but as he feels himself approaching the end of his life, he just wants to burn down everything else as well.

🐦 I do a lot of other writing. Newest offerings: Messing with the Myths — three books so far in this series, including the newly released Ragnarok & Roll. Older offerings: the Crow Nickels (chronicles), about crows who want to save birdkind from extinction (Hunters of the Feather). Mysteries based on Jane Austen’s novels, such as The Meryton Murders. Others based on history and Greek mythology, e.g., Jocasta: The Mother-Wife of Oedipus. All titles also available through Kindle Unlimited. Want to support me but not interested in my books? Buy one and donate to a library. Not happy with Amazon? Paperbacks (not Kindle) also available at The Literate Lizard.
