I still check out Elmo’s cesspool to see what is trending there. I just saw reports from the Texas Democratic Party that up to 1/3 of voters in both Dallas and Williamson counties are having trouble voting. This is due to those counties opting to vote differently from the rest of the state, and is causing confusion. Apparently people could vote at any county polling place during early voting, but are required to vote at their precinct on election day. This has not been the rule since 2019.
DALLAS — Many Dallas County voters were turned away from their usual polling place on Tuesday morning, due to a new process that restricts where residents can vote on Election Day.
In Dallas County, voters are required to go to their assigned precinct on Election Day, which is different from early voting, when residents could cast a ballot at any vote center in the county. Plus, since Dallas County Democrats and Republicans are holding separate elections, your voting location may be specific to your party affiliation, WFAA previously reported.
“I think we’re going to see a lot of instances of people going to the same polling location that they have always gone to and then being told that they can’t vote there,” Jessica Huseman, editorial director of VoteBeat, previously told WFAA.
